"Dolly Van Stade - G. H. Bostwick wed". "Equestrienne and Polo Player married in Old Westbury". At the home of her parents in Old Westbury, Long Island, the marriage took place. She is described by the New York Times as "of this community and Aiken, SC." Her parents home was in Powell's Lane. The Rev. G. Brewster Fritz, Pastor of the Community Church of Seposset performed the ceremony in the presence of members of the family and close friends.

She was given in marriage by her father and she wore the wedding gown of her mother, the former Kathryn H. Steele. The gown was of old ivory satin with tight fitting bodice and a train. The wedding veil also had been worn by her mother.

The bride was unattended. Albert C. Bostwick was best man for his brother. There were no ushers. A reception followed the ceremony. Mrs. Bostwick who had been associated with the hunting and polo families of Long Island and Aiken since she was a junior exhibitor in charity horse shows is an accomplished equestrienne. She is a grand daughter of the late Frederick H. Von Stade of Saratoga Springs, Vice-President of the Saratoga Association for the improvement of the Breed of Horses; and the late Mrs. Von Stade. On the maternal side she is a grand daughter of the late Charles Steele, partner of J. Pierson Morgan and the late Mrs. Steele. Her father was a noted polo player in the early days of the game on Long Island.

She had a fall from her horse at her home and was taken to hospital, where she was "resting comfortably".
