| He moved from New Milford to Hinesburg, Vt in 1787, and then settled in Mechanicsville, Vt on a lot owned by his father. 3 years later he moved to Pond Brook, Vt and there erected the first sawmills in 1791, a small grist mill in 1793, and then a carding machine. He served as Town Clerk and was representative from Hinesburg 1789, 1790, 1792, 1794, 1795, 1797, and 1801. He moved to New York State in 1816. |
